Johnson Matthey to Sell Catalyst Technologies in GBP1.8 Billion Deal

Johnson Matthey (JMAT.L) agreed to sell its Catalyst Technologies business at an enterprise value of 1.8 billion pounds sterling to Honeywell International.

The specialty chemicals and sustainable technology company said Thursday it will be repositioned as a streamlined group focused on clean air and platinum group metals following the sale, which is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.

Johnson Matthey expects net sale proceeds of 1.6 billion pounds from the deal, subject to customary closing adjustments. The company intends to return 1.4 billion pounds of the sale proceeds to shareholders and retain the remaining amount for general corporate purposes.
